    Flooding and drought?

Chris...Watched the SW version so it might have been a little different. I see the point of the EA and water companies trying to move the goalposts once again though, which has always been is a common tactic to deceive the public. Just hope everyone cottons on faster than to what they have done...

    Flooding and drought?

Water Scandal! So what they are saying? Is it that 'water metering' is making no difference and is part of the failure in all this...or more to the monetary profiteering point...We are making no money with water meters installed and will lose £6.25 Billion a year minimum when all the water...

    Flooding and drought?

Here We Go!....Bit quicker than i thought! Oh Dear! Increase water bills, says Lords ;) Government must allow the cost of water to increase and act faster than the Water White Paper suggests - if the UK is to protect its dwindling water resources. Raising the cost of water bills is also...

    Rolling pellets

Forget Me Not! Nige Quote: "Looking at the date of those pictures I thought he caught them during the summer following Jeff's successful Winter campaign (but that was a long time ago". :D As you say Nige, it was a long time ago and we can be forgetful! However, you did write the...

    Rolling pellets

Yeah nearly spot on! Gary Porter was the first to start rolling hair rigged pellets in the summer of that year and was highly successful taking multiple barbel catches, especially in the Gt Weir where it has a clear gravel run down. Then others got wind of what he was doing and they just...

    Flooding and drought?

Down and Out! “since privatisation in the 1980s has resulted in less than 1% of the UK's rainfall being collected and stored for human consumption - instead the water runs directly into the seaâ€. ;) Trade union blames UK drought situation on reservoir closure

    Artificial luncheon meat

Quorn and Tofu and Linda McCartney veggie stuff would all work, even pink marshmallows! The colour pink is sometimes the important factor for the fish to investigate and pick up out of curiosity. You just have to detect the investigative pick up before it puts it down again and says 'No thanks'!

    Rolling pellets

Rolling Pellets do work as does, cheese, pastes, maggots and casters and so on. Consistentcy in catching can depend on what other main baits are used static on a fishery. Also rolling presentation can be important in hooking the bait and allowing it run through naturally and smoothly. Can be...

    Flooding and drought?

Asset Stripping Looks like channel4 has put the cat amongst the pigeons and exposed Thames Water for Asset Stripping and selling off 25 water storage reservoirs since they were privatised in 1989. Another huge reservoir planned to be built at Abingdon was cancelled in 2011 by the UK...

    Flooding and drought?

Nigel quote: Reduced consumption equals reduced extraction. Nigel...So what would be the outcome of that to the Water Company income and profit. Less water used yes = but less water sold! = Less income! Also the poorer of British Public would suffer as they could not afford it, like gas...

    Flooding and drought?

The Wrong type of Rain As a water company official mentioned on TV yesterday evening... errrr... It's the wrong type of rain!:o Oh my God! Don't you just expect it nowadays when they are so inefficient and wasteful. Why are the water companies not getting out there capturing the excess...

    Flooding and drought?

Quite funny that..When the EA did mechanically cut the weed to drop the water level and drain the water meadows in late pring, summer and autumn for the farmers benefit, they kept all the weirs 'closed' for some reason! They could have just opened the weirs in the first place to drop the water...

    Flooding and drought?

I think you'll find that ''every' household in the country will be compulsory metered by 2025, whether you want one or not! There you go! That is the plan! You don't think that foreign profit seeking Water Companies are spending £millions and £millions to put in 'free' water meters in every...
