5 years ago was paying £380 per annum for my water....unmetered.
Moved house, and metre fitted,my last years bill was £240.
The sooner we all have metres fitted the better,as why the hell should a family of
8 who sqaunder water pay the same as me and the missus who use it sparingly.
River levels in the Great Ouse through Buckinghamshire rose during the rainfall on Friday and have begun to rise again due to heavy rainfall on Saturday (27th April) and Sunday (28th April). River levels are expected to rise further as they respond to the continued accumulations of rain. At this point only low-lying land and roads near to the river are likely to be affected, but we will monitor the situation closely and issue further Flood Alerts and Flood Warnings if the situation changes.
I don't mean to be too critical Howard, because you absolutely are entitled to your opinion....but read the facts in Jons third link. It is a long paper, and hard going at times, but it is well worth the effort. The behaviour of the major water company's, the inexplicable laxity and turning of a blind eye on the part of OFWAT and others, and the parts played by successive governments in all this makes deeply disturbing reading. The whole country...no, the whole world has been running on borrowed money for a long time know, and the inevitable 'come uppence' is there for all to see, with national economies slowly unravelling at the seams. The farce of the water companies will no doubt be just another 'disaster-gate' when eventually it's turn to be under the microscope rumbles along. Which of course means another round of 'bail-outs' and consequently more cuts and belt tightening. Unless you are a bank or water company executive....then of course you will largely be unaffected by this, because you will probably live abroad, and have a bank balance that will see you through very nicely.

Grafham water should be on the way up
Yeah and look at how the price at pertrol pumps has gone up and up and up. There is nothing the consumer can do and it is called profitering (sp).
Electric and gas go up and up and there is nothing we can do about.
People like DG are trying to get you to question the status quo instead of being the turkey that votes for Christmas.
Right so who/what caused The existing condition or state of affairs of this country,
that has been no different for years, was it us who voted tory (rich fat cats) who invested very little in the uk,or us who voted Labour, same (rich fat cats) who also invested not very much, and left it to rich businessmen to swell their coffers with very little investment.......who you going to vote for at the next election???
Next time your cars hits a pothole......think to youself, why, when your paying exorbitant fees for fuel, and road tax, where did the money go,it went to uk coffers, unlike our water bill profits...........that in my opinion, in relation to what we use aint to bad
Ps Blame maggie thatcher and the idiots who voted for her,as she was responsable for the first water privatisation, and the worst cases of the poor getting poorer in the uk
Reggie Perrin - Forces of anarchy - YouTubeFair enough then Howard, we may have to agree to disagree on the finer details....but basically we have the same gripes mate Watch out though fella...before you know it, we will be labeled as 'leftist loonies' for daring to speak up
Cheers, Dave.

Howard

yes it is mate, the water is everywhere, there is not one path that is walkable, mind you i have seen it worse than that, at the moment you would not think there was a weir, the water is coming through straight.
