Artificial luncheon meat

Chris Allcock

Senior Member
Has anybody had any joy using artificial luncheon meat whilst rolling, or even as a static bait? Thanks for comments

i would imagine it stays on the hook better, and avoids the attention of crayfish maybe.

I reckon withstanding Crayfish is about the only good reaon i could think of Chris.

I like my meat soft if i'm mounting on the hook, at least enough to pull through very easily, you can flavour the real stuff much better, make it bigger smaller more easily, and so much variety, and textures i'm with Colin - except if Crayfish are around the real thing is miles better.

Ian.

Can't think why on earth anyone would want to use artificial meat when the real thing is easy to use and cheap?
Veggiie fish and vegan anglers perhaps;)

Quorn and Tofu and Linda McCartney veggie stuff would all work, even pink marshmallows! The colour pink is sometimes the important factor for the fish to investigate and pick up out of curiosity. You just have to detect the investigative pick up before it puts it down again and says 'No thanks'!
