I've not had that manyI fished the swale for almost 20 years and never had a double off it.
Came very close afew times but not quite the mark.
Simply cannot comprehend a barbel that size (or any of the ones on display) - incredible.
Not a competition Paul, we all fish for enjoyment and our own satisfaction. 10-12 is a big fish from any river, I agree that it’s bigger from some rivers than others but you can wear the badge with prideI've not had that many
Best is 10-12 which was fat as butter
I'll do the walk of shame back t' dark place now and let the big boys compete

It's a question of whether a river has fish of a certain size, then it's "right place right time". There's no walk of shame relevant Paul.Simply cannot comprehend a barbel that size (or any of the ones on display) - incredible.
Simon - yes, that's right, a splasher of 6 or 7 pounds. It was good to meet you!I think I'd spoken to you earlier that evening Richard. Did you have another one before this fish ??
Thats quite a list!Don't know 16.4 from Warwickshire Avon
18.10 from the Ivel
19.6 from the Thames
I think the W avon because it equals the river record
I know that walk, only too well, but any barbel at that weight is awesome.I've not had that many

A 10 out the swale is like hens teeth. I never achieved it and I practically lived there at one point searching.Hi Paul,
Based on what I've read and heard about the Swale, not least the fact its arguably the most northerly barbel river in the country, or indeed Europe, I would say 10.12 is a frekin monster!!! I'd rate it a better fish than my Trent 14.10 any day of the week.
You can't catch fish that ain't there.
