I must admit Graham, that was what I thought until I had my first Okuma EPB with a front clutch. Now I wouldn't go back to a reel with a rear one.
Clutch, i can think of a hundred reasons for not backwinding and also as many for not faffing around with a centrepin each to their own though,whatever you're happiest with, oh and rear drags are usually pony !!
Yes mate, back in the day thats how we used to play fish, mitchells and old cardinals you could do that but most modern skirted reels will mangle yer fingers ! Ah the good old days eh Mike ?
