    Hooklength/ Hair- rig storage

No doubt its been asked for numerous times, but what do you keep your hooklinks in? I've just tied a dozen up after getting through a silly amount on the rocks last week, now not sure how to keep them good. Does anyone use that Korum maxi rig box? Looks OK for a tenner. P.S. When I say lost to...

    Sonubaits Barbel hookbaits

I've just been to purchase some hempseed and hooks etc, and saw these. Thought I'd give them a go as it's not the normal of thing I use. Anybody done any good with them? I'll take some converting from my meat and lobs 😉

    I need a quality Umbrella

    Your favourite Blockend feeders

Open end groundbait feeders seem to be getting very popular the last few years, but where I fish on the middle Severn, Groundbait seems (to me) a waste of time. So I'm more of a blockend feeder fan, Kamasan Blackcaps and big Drennan ones in particular. What are your favourites? (I want to...

    Are you a Backwinder or a Drag-artist?

I've never used the drag system when fishing for Barbel and Chub, but everyone these days that I come across, seems to be the opposite. I must admit to a few knocks and bruises from spinning handles but I just can't convince myself that I'd be better off using the drag. What do you prefer and why?

    Strange Hookbaits....

I was chatting to someone fishing for Barbel on the Severn today, noticed a very strange looking item on the hair rig, a large chunk of chipshop battered sausage! He assured me that if it's meat based it will catch Barbel. I certainly don't doubt that, but it made me smile😀 Virtually all the...

    Making cheese paste

How do you guys make up nice cheese pastes for Chub? I've got a fridge full of bits of cheese left over in fridge from christmas and some of it is quite potent.... Be interested in what you use, and do Barbel like it too? I think I possibly caught one in the early 90's on a cube of cheese but...

With a total lead ban on the horizon, Can anyone tell me which swimfeeders are weighted with non lead weights? Also the coated flat sinkers, are they coated lead or another substance?

    JMC Tackle/ Ludlow/ Shropshire

Hi all, My 1st post on joining this forum. I popped into JMC tackle in ludlow today to purchase a new Barbel rod. After accepting the offer of a mug of tea, I was presented with the rod that they had put to one side for me( I hadn't asked them to) after previously asking if they had it in stock...
