    Trigga Ice

I fish with a couple of lads for mainly barbel., many hours on the bank. We all use different boilies. One of the lads uses TI in all seasons, he catches very well (both size and numbers). Bait well glugged up on the TI liquid, very little free offerings. I'm very happy with my own bait...

    Boilie favourites/recommendations?

For the past few seasons I have used CC Moore's Pacific Tuna. Very good results across the board on both weights and numbers. Mainly use the dumbell size, more economical for feeding them in a decent amount in the warmer months, we Yorkshire lads are not made of money! :)

    tough start

Duties have kept me on the river Nidd Yorkshire so far this season Cliff. Found it really tough on the barbel front against my last years records and results. Same for the local mach lads.

    Small river barbel rod

Hi David, I fish the Nidd for barbel most weeks. Absolutley endorse the Torrix 11ft 1,75. Used it for a good number of years, enough grunt to handle some 9+ fish and great fun with the smaller splashers, fun with the chub also. Also excellent with those super tight swims.

    BUYING a used reel

Hi Gerry, I would like to echo the advice given in the thread posts. Over the last two years I have bought 4 gts via ebay (6010s). No problems whatsoever, and the decal advice is the giveaway. There are a couple of 510's up at the mo, and as they are not new and sexy...cough :) the prices...

    Lidl garlic sausage

Iv'e been using it for chub over the past couple of weeks Derek, they hammer it! It stays on the hook really well, not as pungent as the stinky garlic spam! I also look forward to whacking a lump out for the barbel next season.

    Hacking

Hi Rich, These are far from cheap, but made for the job, I have had mine three years, its superb and designed for lower clearing of nettles and balsam. Fiskars XA3 on ebay for around £35. Super light and balanced. Hardly any extra weight to pop in the rod bag. Machetes are also I read going...

What are your targets for the new season?

Try to improve my angling on all and every level. To try and evolve a little on bait and application, use my NOGGIN more! :) Fish more short sessions (and more long sessions :) ). Fish more roving sessions. Support all my angling buddies in every way I can, give them lifts, help them to get...

    Another "Old Chestnut"

Right fella's, Alongside the old adages like "Red at night...shepherds delight...Red at morning...shepherds warning" giving a foolproof way of reading the weather (or not!). How does the old adage "Barbel wont munch your boilies or pellets after the closed season until they get used to them...

It is with great pleasure I can announce the resurrection of the LEGENDRY BFW I-Powers has begun! They could well have been lost forever, as BFW rod building "guru" Bob Gill put down his pot of rod varnish, multi coloured whippings, and amazing skills for the last time....but....BUT!!! I have...
