Correct Rhys, but the game fishing brings minimal income for the club, We sell a game fishing permit for Throop and have 6 members who buy it bringing in £215.
Nobody is saying that tackle shops are specifically closing because of the close season but river anglers buying bait etc may help...
Not just small tackle shops going, as somebody said fishing republic, Leslies and Bennets have gone, like river anglers paying for 12 month fishing and being allowed to fish for 9 months, clubs paying leases for 12 months and being allowed to fish for 9 months it is a total farce. It has made no...

Passed here yesterday and the shop/cafe is open as a garage, not sure if they are selling the day tickets.
My friend and myself had 2 days fishing and caught 76 barbel to over 9lbs, great fishing.
The "single species group ambassador" commented that he cannot believe that the Wye and Usk are allowing people to coarse fish on their waters but have banned salmon fishing because of the water temperature making coarse fish second rate. On the Hampshire avon the salmon fishing stops if the...
Enjoy Mick , we (Ringwood) lease the fishing on the opposite bank from the owner of the cottage and guest at the cottage can fish there by rowing across the river, it is a special setting.
