The Roach fishing on our bit of WA is taking precedence over the Barbel at the moment and there have been some very good catches of them in certain swims ! Graham was fishing with me last Friday and he was bashing out the Roach whilst i was blanking on the Barbel !
We have plenty of pictures on...

Hi Guys,
Thinking of buying a Drennan Acolyte 15ft Plus for Tench on the Float as my Drennan Tench at 12'9 struggles a bit in the deep water i fish !
Anybody use one ?
Dave
I have ordered some different hooks as you guys have recommended and will try them out on my next visit and see if they make any difference.
I do foul hook some of the average size fish and usually land them also some nice Trout fairly hooked that stay on despite their aerobatics !
Maybe most...
Yes i was wondering about the action of the rod ! I'm using a 14ft Drennan Acolyte Ultra which i thought would be perfect ?
These fish are in quite fast water and maybe i need to be a bit more forceful with them as they seem to come off quite quickly ?
Been doing a bit of Grayling fishing recently with some success, where i have been fishing the average size is about a pound and there is plenty of them so its great sport !
Now and again i bump into larger fish around the 2 lb mark and maybe even bigger but they always come off, just wondering...
As a foot note to my reel problem i have just received both my 5000 RE's back from Felindre Shimano Service Centre,The reel that was in their words "beyond economic repair" has been restored back to as new condition (that's what i asked) for under £40 and the second reel for under £24 that's...
Well Guys a change of plan !
A phone call from Felindre service center yesterday afternoon offering to restore my 5000 RE with a guarantee it will be as good as new for £50, all in including postage back.
No brainer for me especially with the history of 15 years or so of all the great fish i...
Well I’m beginning to wish I never asked this question as I’m even more confused now, I’ve had a look at most of your recommendations and thank you for them but I’m still none the wiser !
I have got a Mitchell 300,410 and a 840 along with other various reels including Pins gathering dust or...
Hi Guys
Just been told by Shimano service centre that one of my beloved RE 5000's is beyond economic repair not bad for 15 years !!!
So I’m going to need some new reels
Can anybody recommend something slightly bigger as the 5000 RE did feel a little under gunned at times and ideally would...
Hi Shaun,
What a fantastic session very well done ! Love the right up as well !
Have a feeling it was on the same river as I've just had by best season on ?
