Do the back legs still fold up from underneath you if not locked in property? :D
Think I'll stick with the old one despite that though, plenty of life left in it yet.
cheers

I see Martin Bowler has a new book out through Calm Productions, A Fish For All Seasons.
"It's been illustrated and the drawings produced for Martins book “A Fish for all Seasons” are now for sale. These works of art drawn by top artist and angler Gareth Fareham are available to buy from this...
had a few today fishing the river Perry. First ever go with a cane rod, with a centrepin obviously - fantastic fun, didn't realise the cane gave so much.

Good call, picked up a tray today. I'm also interested to see if anyone has had success with the black pepper variety, I got a tin just on the off chance.
cheers

The half tin of garlic spam I had over has been defrosted and thawed several times, the last time was in the microwave and seemed to make the meat really greasy, fat oozing out and appeared to almost cook the edges, this fished quite successfully.
I had a few hours yesterday and fished Bacon...
Hi chaps,
I've been using garlic spam recently and although it's been producing more chub and eels than barbel I've taken a liking to fishing with meat again.
I'm on my last tin so was wondering about some options, I just bought some Bacon Grill as Chris Yates mentions it a lot and I also...
Thanks for all the suggestions I've been messing about for a week with this reel and can't find anything actually wrong with the parts mentioned but I have found that loosening the baitrunner to the lightest setting makes it turn a lot better, I'd venture that it is useable but it's a bit of a...
I have a Okuma Epix EPB40 that has developed a problem. It began when I tightened the (front) drag down hard to pull free from a snag and once free the handle started turning stiff on every second turn, one lose one tight.
Any ideas what causes this and how to fix?
many thanks
Al
Might be worth having a look back at Paul's web page here.

Have a look back at the fishing diaries, they mainly fish the Trent & Dove DRAC stretches.
Plenty of the Trent hardly fished, I don't think it's been fishing as well as it was five years ago but...
Berkley Big Game, absolutely no reason to change as it cheap & reliable.
Not tried Sensor clear but the brown stuff was awful for coiling, had to bin it.

Thanks for all the responses people, I've been practising a few knots and really struggled with the grinner. I've tied a few knotless knots with the fluoro and they seem strong enough but then I haven't pitted them against a double yet.
With all the options it sounds like personal preference...
Thanks, more of question of if the balance remains the same so I'm happy with that. I don't know a grinner so no worries there!
That leads me onto knots, I've been lazy and using pretied hooks to nylon (preston P36) am I right in thinking most people tie their hooklength to a swivel and...
Are the breaking strains comparable? Usually I use mono with a 12lb mainline with a 10lb hooklength, is that still the same if the hooklength is fluoro?
I've ordered some Korda IQ and instinctively bought the 10lb breaking strain.
I also have a ton of questions regarding different knots...
Another for Berkley Big Game, use it in 12lb. Tried Sensor in brown last year in 8lb and 6lb for smaller barbs & chub and found it coils like hell, threw it all away in the end.
