    mosquito repellant

Try either Morrisons or Sainsbury's own brand repellant ( the 50% Deet stuff). The Mozzies at Cottage Lane lakes on the RDAA book are evil, and without spray they will be all over your arms, hands neck, ears in SECONDS of you walking through the trees, and they will be drilling away...

    tut tut

Was he actually fishing, ie, using a baited hook, or were he and the photographer just taking establishing shots for the proposed article. Maybe the weather was right, and there'd be no other anglers around so it was a good opportunity to get some shots for the article. If he wasn't using a...

    Ebay madness

I've got a mate who owns a couple of Barders, and I've noticed that when he fishes with them, he wraps a cloth round his rod rest so he doesnt scratch the varnish on the rod. Not my kind of fishing.

I always hair rig meat using a 'stay-put' screw. Keeps the meat on very securely and allows use of a smaller hook.

Charity money raised over the last year...

Off the wall idea, but how about a BFW 'ebay-type' section, where members can put up unwanted items of kit, for either a fixed price or auction , and all the money goes to the BFW charities. I'm not thinking 'a day on the kennet with the Silver fox - £150' but more in terms of, 'Fox stalker...

Forget the economic arguments, forget what any government said or didnt say, forget where or how it is to be built, just go abroad by train, to France, or Spain, or even Belgium...BLOODY BELGIUM...and look at the quality of their rail system. Why shouldnt Britian boast a similar standard of rail...
