I was thinking 1.5lb myself. I find my 1.25lb rods just a little soft for barbel.
I have just had a look on the Peregrine site. I have a couple of flood rods built by Roger and I love them.
He has an 11' avon rod at 1lb6oz and a 12' stepped up avon rod. No mention of TC on the latter.

I am considering a custom build rod that covers all of my river roving. Primarily for perch, chub and barbel fishing.

The screw tips are ideal when fishing from really rocky/stoney/gravelly swims when pushing normal sticks in is difficult.
It isn't to stop them pulling out. It is purely for screwing them in through all the obstacles.

Cracking lads these two. Totally capture the spirit of fishing in their vlogs.
The Supa Brolly series wasn't the best. Lots of issues with them leaking. I had three fail on me. Mk1 and 2.
Binned them in the end and jumped across to Trakker.
I've installed mains voltage in the back of my van. Just enough power to charge batteries, make a coffee etc.
Also comes in really handy while fishing for keeping things topped up if a powerbank ever lets me down.
I've just ordered the Prologic Twin Sky 2-Rod Pod.
Obviously I have not used it yet, but I found a thread somewhere on the net where it appeared to be well liked.
Time will tell with this one I guess. It does appear to be a decent bit of kit though.
