Tri-Cast John Allerton Rod, anyone use it?

Lovely rods them TSI’s
I’ve had some crackers on mine and it’s lovely to play them on
They are an absolute steal second hand. Only problem being they come up for sale less frequently than a Triaxial does. In the possibly 15 years I have owned my TSI I have never seen another for sale. In that time I have seen three Triaxial and bought two of them.

I bought mine about a year ago and give a hundred quid for it. It’s had a bit of hammer this year.
I do still prefer my Hi S if doubles are firmly on the cards. It’s the only float rod I’ own that I’ve total confidence in locking right up and giving absolutely everything without fear of it going bang.

I bought an 11 new on this site last year. Lovely little thing. But sold it as a favour really, plus admittedly a profit so never used it. I think they did a 12 too and a barbel. Plus some 12 or 13 carp.

Never seen or even heard of a shorter version of the float rod.
It would of made sense to of made at least a 13 footer in the range
When I researched the TSI 11' 1.2 I bought from Rob, I found the title probably derives from " Trophic State Index" which is a classification of biological productivity in lakes. I interpret as " being the equal of" ie anything in there, when I looked in a dictionary. I can find mention of a 12' 2.75 carp and a 12.3lbon google .On amazon there is a 12' TSI barbel too dated around 2112. Another entry quotes a float but not a length. A float and barbel is on my look out for list .
The rod I replaced it with a 10.9 reactorlite I broke 10" off today. Shame as it works well with a polaris float. Ho ho.

I was aware there is plenty of specialist and carp blanks in the tsi range at the time. I have just never seen another length of float or match rod other than 15ft and that is an out and out power float rod at that
Unusual for manufacturers not to have a couple of variations in both strength and length at least.

Im pretty sure the only float rod is the15', I also have the 11' 1.2lb that Alec mentions, there was also definitely a 1.75 12' barbel rod, beyond that I don't know. the 11' is a super slim blank but its undergunned for barbel even though Ive had quite a few on it, not really sure what its best use would be tbh ?

Thanks for reply. Up your way today as off to Snettisham for a week. Do you fish at Hemingford grey? I went a few weeks ago to see a charity open garden and thought the river etc was outstandingly beautiful.

I very rarely fish still waters at all.
I have fished it before but only a dabble in the winter for the pike

My plan Cliff was to use it for smaller lakes with a Polaris float.I had used a sliwa 10 barbel for that method and I think it would suit that method very well. As indeed my Avon does at 1.6. Pity I broke the 10.9 reactorlite yesterday but pleased to say getting it fixed.

Hi Cliff. Dave has pointed me towards a tsi 1.75 on marketplace.. which must be the barbel I think. It's in Ludlow, ha. The bag is black and seemingly no mention of tf gear. Does that strike a chord?. I have messaged seller and will buy if I can get it to me in essex for eeadonable cost.. I was there for a few days last month. Doh.

The bags are black. They are crap too. Plastic type feeling things that are a little on the tight side for the sections too.

Should just have TSI printed on the flap.

That's it Richard. I have already agreed to buy just sorting out collection now hopefully. Would have preferred an 11 but no matter. Thanks
