Lesson Learnt. Rod Posting

Sorry to hear that Graham,I can't believe the insurance doesn't cover damage to rods !!
That outrageous !!
My worst experience has been TUFFNELS ! both times I used them the cardboard tube had been badly damaged ,two broken rings on one rod, the other rod managed to survive but the damage to the tube was severe ,you could see the rod through the tube .I posted one yesterday ,cost me £33. My fingers are crossed 😳
Adam.

Practically every thing is not covered even if you pay for insurance .

Good luck. The rod I sent was bubble wrapped and sent in a rod tube.
£170 lost

About 8 rears ago I wrote a business plan for independent tackle shops. The idea was to give them an edge against the sheds. It involved rod part exchanges without involving couriers. Individuals could have joined the scheme. Like most of my ideas, enjoyed but not taken up. I still think it would have worked,,!

That's right. They take extra money for insurance when they know the contents are rods. Seems to me they need a water extraction license..

I don’t get people spending upwards of £500 on rods and trusting couriers to deliver them safely if I was spending even a couple of hundred quid on rods i would drive and collect them or try and meet halfway just sold 2 free spirit hi s rods buyer was in North Yorkshire I’m in Hertfordshire so arranged to meet halfway and then mr Issac’s stepped in as he was going to Scotland that day so took them for me… I don’t trust courier’s as far as I could throw them there needs to be much more regulation and they should be forced to have a phone number where you could actually speak to a human

I don’t mind ordering rods from tackle shops to be delivered cause if it turns up broke you’ll get your money back or a replacement but I wouldn’t spend big money secondhand without collecting myself as one of you is losing out if it arrives damaged

UPS did this to my MT specialist multi-tip last week and doubled the number of sections for me, every section broken including the reel seat with one point of impact....

Marks an absolute legend though as he dropped off a replacement on his way home this evening now that's above and beyond, top man!! 20230609_142527.jpg

If it was sent in the rod tube in the picture I'm really not surprised Darren with the way some couriers treat parcels. Before it became ridiculously expensive to send rods I used to source the thick cardboard tubes ( cores ) from a local carpet shop. It made them pretty courier proof although I'm sure if they started driving over them with their vans even these might succumb !
