flyfishing day.

That's kind of you Graham and very much appreciated, but I really don't want to put you or anyone else to any inconvenience.

I have enough fly fishing gear to start my own tackle shop and I am happy to bring and share.

Any idea of a date yet?

Steve

Ok. Date we can make it is 12th April a Saturday.

If everyone who can make it posts comfirmation by Monday I will book us in.

I will ask about pike Ian.

Hope it suits all.

Graham

I can't make 12th Graham, I'm already double booked that day!! I can make 5, 6, 26, 27.

That would be a real shame Crooky.

I will see what others can do. PM only date is 12th. If no good for most I will try another date. PM and I can still go 12th.

Worse comes to worst we will postpone. Help if others can check diaries and advise re 12th. Thanks

Graham

Good Steve. Can you help Mark C now joining us with a reel. I have rod.

So Paul. Steve R. Howard. Mark. and me confirmed so far.

I will have a dig around in the tackle shed and see what I can come up with. I definitely have 2 x 7/8 wt rods plus reels so I should be able to supply a complete outfit if needed.

I will tie a few killer patterns that have done the business in the past. My most successful fly is tied as follows: Take a hook. Wrap some copper wire round it so it has a buzzer profile. Job done!

Steve

I'll be doing the same Steve. The vice will be out again in a few days ready to replenish my stock of buzzers, daddies and few others. :)

Just to wet your appetite

Fantastic picture Paul. Come on chaps.

That chap looks a real pro ( just shows how pictures can fib.....?)

Im popping there monday for a fish but without my mentor!!!

Got a boat deal for 1.

Graham

Paul, Graham,

I really appreciate you offers but, thinking it through, having nicked all your tackle, I'd then require way too much baby-sitting which wouldn't be fair on you guys. Even though from that picture, there doesn't seem to be a tree for miles, I'd be sure to find one to wrap your line around.

I'll stick with what I promised myself in the first place: a spring campaign to improve my distinctly average tench PB. There's a 40acre pit just down the road from me with at least two tench in it which I've decided deserves my undivided attention.

Cheers,

Steve

I would haved loved to have come down Graham. But it is a tad far for me to travel and I have just had my knee op done so it rules me out i'am afraid as I have to rest up for a while. We did have a laugh in the old days :)
