CheersIt's not shrink tube Peter, its simply the rubber tubes that come with the enterprise adapters, butted up to each other.
I absolutely love isotopes
Not just on rod tops but the device in general is just such a fantastic personal* night aid to locate things.
* I elaborated personal because there are lots of night aids out there but unlike the isotope they tend to attract everyone else’s attention.
I use isotopes a lot and shrink them onto various things. I’ve got one shrunk onto a baiting needle. Yes expensive needle you might say but in reality it’s a lot cheaper than the 10 a year I used to buy.
I bought a couple of river rests to try out which I’m quite impressed with but been black you can only find them under torch light................. not any more I’ve a solar glow in the dark needle , love the rod rests

Did you glue the tube , just been and got someI quite like the isotope being flat with the tip and some great ideas above (Love Bob's)
I've bodged this up for now using 2 enterprise adapters and see how it goes. Also going to paint the rod top white.

Cheers , I’ll have a play later thanksNo, it holds them very securely without.
What size is your isotope richard , cheersNo, it holds them very securely without.
3mm x 22.5mmWhat size is your isotope richard , cheers
Mine are 25 mm3mm x 22.5mm
It's the larger one in the BFW Shop.
The length isn't an issue if you've got the enterprise style adapters with the clear tube on, just slide what you can from each end. They don't have to meet in middle.Mine are 25 mm
Can I blame richard Isaacs for telling me too buy the isotopes LOL I’ll try it , if not I’ll get some clear tube , cheersThe length isn't an issue if you've got the enterprise style adapters with the clear tube on, just slide what you can from each end. They don't have to meet in middle.
Hey hey hey. Did I read blame being pushed my way!Can I blame richard Isaacs for telling me too buy the isotopes LOL I’ll try it , if not I’ll get some clear tube , cheers
Will do , thanksHey hey hey. Did I read blame being pushed my way!
25’s are the way to go Pete. It’s another 2.5mm of visibility
there is only one way I’d improve richards new found creation and that is I’d do it with 1 long piece of silicon tube rather than 2 meeting in the middle. It’s cheap and easy to get.
get yourself a piece long enough to suit the 25’s and your laughing.
Parallel to the bank, so I'm looking slightly down. What angle do you usually have your rods Paul? It's very rare I go any higher than say 45°
Or snap when the rod bends??Do these " fixed " isotopes not stop the tip of the rod, the most flexible part, from bending properly, and may cause it to snap ?
