Just tried colouring mine. It's harder than you think. It's terribly precarious perching yourself on a couple of tins of paint and trying to submerge each buttock cheek. My left one became hopelessly lodged beneath the lip of the bloody thing leaving me stranded in the middle of the shed. I raised the alarm and thankfully within minutes I heard friendly footsteps at the shed door. It was only when the face of my mother in law came horribly into view that I felt a wave of nausea drench me.

She quickly turned away muttering something like "he really shouldn't be doing that sort of thing at his age". In a strange twist, my father in law joined me, although as he was removing his trousers and undergarments I wasn't entirely certain that was his intention. Deliverance is one of his favourite films.

Anyway, all ended happily and we had a nice cup of tea.

Yes I see what you mean Nick. Well that's what comes of trying to multi-task I guess. I wanted to write a serious post on this thread but I was also very busy blanking on the Kennet at the time. But when it came to write something I realised that actually, pretty much everything has been said. Then I looked at the title of the thread and thought an alternative interpretation could be dying (as in colouring, as one might do to ones hair-or in my case, my one hair) a backside. I then pondered how that might be achieved.

Unfortunately, there was nothing deep or cryptic about the post, it was just schoolboy musings, on a night when nothing, nothing I tell you, was happening on the river. So now I have lost faith in my ability to catch a fish.

Going back to the original point about the forum being quiet, there are 60 members viewing as i write this - given we should be fishing or getting ready to go fishing this ain't bad or are we avoiding doing the shopping:D
 
I'm about fished out, having been 4 times over the last 4 days ! The wife and kids are not back until 6pm today but I need a bit of rest.
Back on topic, I think it's a shame Ade has gone as he was a bit of a character and a regular contributor. I know there must be reasons for it, but I would like to think they can be sorted out. Maybe I'm a bit of an optimist though.
I know it's sometimes a fine line between being interesting/funny/thought provoking and rude/combative. In order to keep the forum vibrant though, I think people should all be given nine lives, because otherwise people will always steer clear of the fine line, which makes for duller viewing. Mind you, I'm not sure I'm best qualified as I haven't taken offence for several decades. I even found Paul Boote amusing sometimes (for all the wrong reasons of course).
I don't think Facebook is the answer though. I've tried it and IMO it's rubbish.

I have re-read Ade's initial post that started this thread and my interpretation of it is that he was trying to be constructive on ways that BFW could be improved. For that he is banned. Other posters seem have posted to the fact that, although he could be a bit edgy, they enjoyed his posts and found them thought provoking and informative. I do not think there has been one post specifically agreeing with Ade's ban so would it be too much to ask that he is re-instated?
 
you guys are frustrating at times, leave the running of the site to the bfw team, THEY MAY KNOW MORE RELEVENCE TO EVENTS THAT WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT! and i say MAY, there may also be other reasons for not stating why, please guys it must be so frustrating for them, let it rest ( and i liked Ade too)
 
Just had a peek, interesting comment from someone calling himself Scientific traveller (wonder who that is) he says he will be banning anyone who goes on to BFW next year, it wouldnt be banning from the Biblins would it, nah surely not :)

They are a bitter lot that's the truth, still blaming anyone but themselves for their downfall, seems like I get some of the blame to by the bloke that has more personas than Tony Blair,:p Still I suppose it can't be much fun for the poor souls locked in a place liked that with liked minded individuals that have nowhere else to go.

Why do they persist in being so anti everything? Weird, so weird, certain members have it in for BFW and members over here, and yet they can be quite reasonable on this site and rip the p1$$ out of BFW over there,real Jekyll and Hide stuff, is that really the way forward in Angling to betray 'mates'. behind their backs, whilst smothering it in profanity to tickle the fancy of their feeble like minded members?

Like I said weird, and something that does reflect badly on us all, so if you have the balls ***** stop acting like kids and grow up, yes we all know it nawty to swear and poke fun at others, but it does become a bit tedious and boring you know.

Oh dear.

Just had a look myself and it would appear that I have offended someone called "Tinca" (presumably, a manhood related nickname). I dare say its because one of my peccadillos is the use words containing more than one syllable. I also found it hilarious that the outrage exhibited at the banning and the calls for reinstatement are more than matched by highly derogatory comments about BFW and just what a terribly dull place it is. Why do the members care so much to warrant this level of comment? And why do they visit this site so regularly if it's so boring ? Of course, it's their lack of imagination and creativity hence the complete reliance on Anglo Saxon vocabulary.

And who designed the website? A child? An otter?

Amazing.
