BFW Grayling Fish-In

He can bring himself, I am not going to Kent to pick him up!!! You comin Chubby??

Fished Britford yesterday for my first serious attempt at trotting. I managed 60/70 fish with a mix of Dace,Roach,Chub and Grayling. I also got to watch some Salmon spawning:)

Just too wet your appetite

Fished all day at Britford yesterday with Mark a fellow BFW member in close to appalling conditions, the wind made it impossible to use a centrepin so opted for a closed face reel.
After a quick briefing from top man Stuart the bailiff in the car park I fished one of the first swims on the Old River we was quickly catching all day long despite the terrible conditions of driving rain and swirling gusting downstream wind which made it almost impossible to control the float, but despite all this we ended up with a great bag of fish including Grayling (The larger ones are masters of getting off the hook) Dace, Brown Trout, Salmon Parr and personally lots of chub which are great fun on light tackle, Mark also had 1 Roach.
The weather forced us to pack up at 3pm and we both agreed it was one of the most enjoyable days fishing we have had and are eager to go back when the conditions are better !
For the record was using a 4BB wire stemmed stick float, size 18 micro barbed hook to 1lb 12oz hook length, got through 3 pints of RED Maggots, 1 pint of Casters
I’m sure you will enjoy it
Dave

Happy days - my day off has been confirmed so they can't make me change at the last moment now!!:D

Looking forward to this!

Nathan, how many of us are there now?

Difficult to say Keith to be honest. My original calculations based on those that showed an interest were about 25 but some are unable to make it and other haven't confirmed. I reckon we'll end up with about 15 or so.

Plenty of room there, should be a bloody good day!

The Silver fox and I should be there bright and early, not sure about Graham but I don't mind a dab of Ketchup in my Bacon roll!!

Clive and I have the whole week off so we'll be bivvying up to bag the top swims :D:p
Looking forwards to it !

10 gallons of maggots please shop keeper!

does anyone know of any motels (travel lodges etc) near to the venue ? as i think i'll be stopping over if possible ,as its rather a long drive for me

Keith.

Yes certainly, drop of ketchup in my bacon. sausage and egg rolls would be great. Mind you, we must plan to be there before Chubby1 and 2 to stand a chance..........:D;):p It'll be good to see some of the old BFW Loddon Fish Ins attendees again.
