I posted this a few years back, I will never forget this day and will possibly be the most memorable day of my past and future fishing. Thanks to BFW and my own determination.
"In February I decided to jack in my local gravel pits that I had been a member of for 15 years. I wanted to catch...
Fair shout Chris, I tried the shimanos with my Korum neoteric and they felt too small for them hence opting for the slightly bigger KXi 60's which match these well but then I fish the trent and wanted something a bit more substanial for my Barbel fishing. The front drag I enjoy as I will use...
Something different maybe?
Needed to replace my fox 7000's (after years of abuse). Opted for some Korum KXi 60's as wanted front drag and bait runner facility. Look and feel good but yet to be used in anger.

Blooming addictive these tincas! Had a dabble this morning with a reward of 5 tincas up to 7lb 2oz, they seem to be enjoying good old richworths tutti frutti!
To top it off I eventually managed to christen my centre pin with a lovely female of 6lb12oz, that was fun! :)
Hi Ian,
Went back for another go yesterday, the early morning session started as before. Lots of indication, the change I made was to use smaller method feeders with not so much bait moulded around them, as it did seem they were attacking the method straight away. I then just sat on my hands...
lol yes think you are right David, I think Bream spawn at a lower water temperture and earlier than tench? Kept me entertained for an evening after work for sure!
Tinca Puzzle!
Hi All,
I have recently started my Tench Campaign on a local syndicate of gravel pits, considering its been still fairly chilly I have managed 7 to 6.12 over the last few sessions.
However this evening I thought I would try the largest lake circa 10 acres at the shallow end...
Nice Angling Graham, may have a dabble for the pike tomorrow if the Barbel are not playing ball. Managed a 19lber of the Tidal last week in perfect condition.
Roving
I recently went through the process of looking for a Roving set up. I ended up going for the Korum 2 rod quiver and Korum large Multi Mat. This has been ideal for leapfrogging for my pike fishing and of course I will be looking to put into practice for the Barbel.
The Mutli Mat has...
For me was Variety!
A few PB's and getting out most weekends no matter what the weather!
Oh nearly forgot a wonderul 36lb 10oz common carp of the river Saone, another PB!
Hi,
I am interested in having a go at making my own paste and possible boilies this year. I have some ideas with the additives, just keen to understand what base mix to use for the paste?
On my shopping list is Semolina, Ground rice and Soya flour mixed with eggs.
Any suggestions...
Hi Simon,
As a possible alternative the Daiwa Whisker 3012 maybe worth a look. I use one with a greys powerfloat for my chub fishing and cannot fault it.
Cheers
