Mass bankside tree removal by farmers?

On our section of the Rother at Coultershaw we have an area of land that is used for cricket bat willows. They select trees to harvest, and when removed they replant with 10ft lengths of willow which are just slotted in to a preformed hole. Also when I lived in Essex several lengths of the...

    Mobile/lightweight brolly

Alan you have it right, all you need is a golfing brolly and forget about all this fancy expensive crap about rib sizes etc. I get mine from Sports Direct at a cost of £6.00 for 2. I have used them in some torrential rain over the years. I arrange my bait and gear under my chair, and with the...

My mate and I Go self catering in the Severn Valley View ( look in BFW accommodation) The facilities are fantastic. The location is Highley and is very quiet. We have been going for 5 years and the fishing is good on a BAA ticket this year we had 3 doubles up to 12lb 2oz. Adrian lives on site...

    Bite Alarm recommendations request.

I met Phil Smith at Adams Mill some years ago, who also has a big following among Barbel anglers. Phil uses bite alarms, and his explanation was that as he gets older he has a tendency to nod off and doesn't want to loose his rod. I am in a similar age bracket as Phil and have to admit to...

Barbel stocked in the Somerset Levels

Our club controls some Barbel stretches of the Western Rother in West Sussex, and have wanted to top up stocks with 4 or 500 barbel, but we have been told by the E.A. that this will not happen, because it is E.A. policy that in waters where barbel are not indigenous no further stockings are...

    Pellet feeder

On the Severn I generally use 4 to 6mm pellets soaked in river water for 20 minutes then fill a 3 to 4oz open ended feeder and lightly squeeze them in. This has been very successful for a number of years. A 3oz feeder is enough to hold on the Arun in normal circumstances, but a bit too heavy for...

    Korum 12ft Barbel rod

John I tried for two weeks to get in touch with Prestons, but found their web site to be useless. None of my Emails were answered, I asked them if other users had had similar problems.

    Korum 12ft Barbel rod

Some time ago I bought a new Korum 12ft 1.75 TC Barbel rod, and have had quite a few fish on it, however recently while playing a Barbel of about 6lb there was a loud bang and the top section snapped between the bottom two rings. Before I think about replacing it I want to ask if any one else...
