Is there any point treating tench that have what look like sores with klinic or whatever it is called ,,does it work given the slime factor ?

My barbel mojo has suffered somewhat recently but had a long overdue start to a tench fishing campaign at a secluded gravel pit recently and was blown away with two great fish which came to my modest technique.
Popped up boilie bought two tench , best 9lb 10oz other 7lb 5oz.

The one fish most capable of dealing if not thriving with fast water surely is barbel.
If they get washed downstream in high water then surely absolutly nothing else would survive ??
Is there plenty of fry , bleak and chub still about ? {surely all less comfortable in a very strong flow)...
