Great series, I liked the fact that the guy leaving his place to go film the chub was wearing bright blue rubberised Wet suit as well you might to go underwater, but wore his Andy Capp cloth cap to go with it. Look out for this look from the style leaders on the bank next season.
Seriously...
Must have seen me coming unless it's a ploy to get noticed in on 'ebay madness' GREYS COARSE FISHING ROD PRODIGY TX 12' ROVA PLUS TRAVEL 7 PIECE GPTXTP010 | eBay
Thanks for all the comments, the Peregrine rod looks perfect but at £200 is probably over my budget for a spare rod. I'm still thinking about the Grey's prodigy 3 piece, but not finding too much information about any other than the newer TX ones. So I'll be scouting ebay or posting in 'wanted'...
Any recommendations for a spare 12/11ft 1.5lb rod that will keep/fit in the boot of a hatch back car? have read that a Greys Prodigy 3pc (but not the TX) might be the answer, it needs to be no more than a metre long when packed up and would help me go away with the family without having to put...
Thanks for all the replies on this, guess it's down to swim choice and the right spot rather than pin point accurate casting. No need to cast close to features overhead on the far bank 'fish swim' even in rivers that are 3 or 4 rod lengths wide.
Cheers
How do you cast in the dark? Stupid question really but would be interested to know tactics from those that favour night fishing. My eyesight isn't what it used to be and faced with some swims where the target is across the bank under a willow I wouldn't trust myself to get it just right.
Without looking back, I think you were asking about FAS or Farnborogh AS water at Sindlesham. Since I didn't know the answer to the specific question I didn't post an answer myself. I suspect that is the real reason there was little response - no one knew what the answer was.
Nor can I comment on the threads 10 years ago , but I agree with Anthony. This site is good and the river reports really come in to their own when there are problems like flooding, pollution or misuse whatever. I don't think it's cliquey so much as mates having a chat and banter but knowingly...
"a recipe for squab pie, contributed by Penzance W.I., involves layers of veal, ham, mutton, beef, a cormorant and as much clotted cream as it will take. This is such a massive and baroque undertaking that I don't suppose it was cooked very often..."
Over to you lads!
