    Drennan Spares

I got in touch with Drennan and was told I would have to go through one of there suppliers. Mine was for a replacement top section for a series severn silverfish float rod.

    Torrix or hi s rods

If you choose Free Spirit I would go with the Barbel Seeker rather than the Hi's . I had a pair of the Hi's Specialist in 12ft 1.75tc Stepped up and found them not suitable (for me) for barbel fishing.. They just seem to bend from tip to joint and I even struggled to pull a barbel over the...

    Vehicle of choice

I fancy a Nissan Xtrail but cant afford one at the moment so my old Focus hatchback has to haul the load but I've never been short of space but not much ground clearance ..

    Burton Mutual.

I think it's a great idea and might even pay for itself as in the club would loose some income that all of us river anglers wouldn't be paying but then they might get a lot of new members on the river only ticket.. It's got to be better than just keep loosing members that only want to fish the...

    Storm Babet

I've recently put some crampons on a pair of my fishing boots. After just two trips I've now got them on three pairs of boots to save swapping them over when there all muddy. Only cheap ones from Amazon but I wish I had been using the for years gone. Great grip on slippery banks..

    Scunthorpe ticket

On the Newark ticket at East Stoke there is a peg at the carpark with a solid platform that you should be ok on Michael.. You can also park behind your peg at the power station but you do have the big steps to get down when you have a fish on but some of the pegs only have about 3 steps.

    Bank chair

Have a look at this.. I bought one last year for the same reasons. My knees are shot it to.. I will say its not the most comfortable chair I've sat on but not the worse either and it is certainly the lightest I've picked up. I can't remember how light it is but if you need me to I will weigh it...

    Advice on new rods

I think the free spirits are a very nice rod and actually prefer them to the Torrix but it's very much a personal thing .. It's a lot of money to spend without at least holding one in the flesh and having a wiggle. I know it's nowhere near the same as actually playing a barbel on a rod but at...

    Drennan Email

Wanted Free Spirit Nylon 12ft Rod Sleeves

http://www.rogerhurstrods.co.uk/ Try this chap. He builds ( or use to build) most of the free spirit rods. I had some custom builds by him and he had a massive pile of the bags in a corner of his work place. It was a few years ago but worth a try.
