Jon, that's very good of you and many thanks for your offer, I can make any dates pretty much (lovely being retired) (youngest Daughters wedding 1st June 2nd attempt, talked her out of the 20th) but will have to see when my Mate is available (or not).
My Muckmasters arrived this evening, I was amazed they fit perfectly (have always had problems with my right leg due to an accident I had in the 70s), they feel warm. The good thing was my Wife just accepted the fact that they fit well, I expected a much tougher battle than that to get them through.
My Wife has suggested that due to COVID it is not really the time for arranging foreign holidays as we cannot depend on either the trip going ahead or having to endure lockdown on our return.
She has suggested that we can have a little trip around the country staying in B&Bs with every other...
Bought a new set of Sportscale 7000 Digital Scales, they arrived about 10 minutes ago, included a screwdriver (that's nice) but no bloody battery. Also states Dual power but is not, just has a capacitor that charges off the main battery to hold the readings that are in memory. So unless I go out...
I don't know if it will help, but I made some paste from disintegrated boilies, pellets (same type as boilies) and some cooked hemp, I used them on a tear-drop lead (with a hole in the middle), wrapped the weight with the paste to use as an attractor with a 2ft hook link. Was surprised to find...
Now, I have mentioned the AirBnB that I occasionally stay at in Shrewsbury. I did recount the tale of my having slipped on the mud steps and falling in to the river at the beginning of our 1st visit. We have visited the venue twice more since.
I had a couple of small Barbel 3lb 12oz and 4lb 12...
I bought the Fox R Series Brolly system but was astounded to see the size of the bag for just the brolly, 6ft or maybe even more. I did buy the extension and the infill panel and it is almost as big then as my Fox R XL Bivvy. I cant see the full monty brolly getting much use.
Isn't that always the way, make something good that lasts and they don't make any more sales, or change them for something not as good but then ensures further sales.
The number of times I have asked for something and they are no longer available but a cheaper, more poorly bit of kit is...
Not wanting to 'black cat'
Whilst no retailer involved, last week I phoned Masterline/Ryobi (closing down at the moment apparently) on Tuesday 22nd September about having a service and repair to my Ray Walton Mk2 Rolling pin, I spoke to a chap called Chris Miles and he told me to send it back...
I invested in a extra strong dog-spike and rope (extra fat man size) carabineer is 4" in length.
It didn't help me when I was going down the slippery steps at Shrewsbury, one minute I was slowly walking down the steps and holding the rope and the next I was dangling horizontally just above...
Some won't be surprised that I went in the Dorset Stour at Longham one February about 25 years ago, was with a group of workmates from Plymouth and we had travelled up to fish a River.
I was bringing a nice Roach in and it was taken by a Pike (at about 10am) which I then played for about 5...
I have the NGT XPR TERMINAL TACKLE BOX magnetic closing box and I love it, brilliant for keeping all those small terminal bits available. For about £12 its a steal.
