    Bait Dropper Modification

Cheers Dave, forgot to mention that I had Araldited it on! I actually moulded around the plastic stem and then slid it down onto the existing lead, securing it with a bit of araldite. Should be spot-on....I hope!

    Bait Dropper Modification

Thanks for all the advice gents, very much appreciated. I've modified 4 of my droppers by cutting a 2oz dead-cow lead in half and wrapping/moulding it around the existing lead. I'll also experiment with some of the other ideas in the near future. Thanks once again, Gareth

    whats your pb barbel???

Last season was my first 'proper' season on the rivers (only ever match fished, pretty much every week for 10+ years!) and I found the going tough to say the least. Managed 7 barbel up to a new PB of 8lb 15oz right at the end of the season. Really wanted to catch a double this...

    Bait Dropper Modification

Hi chaps, Looking for a bit of advice. I currently use the Dinsmore bait droppers (plastic & based on the Thamesely). I want to increase the weight on a few of them to ensure they sink like a stone (needs to be precise between weed). What's the best way of adding weight? I don't want to be...

    Footwear

Thanks chaps. Gary - I have used the chub fields boots but recently sold them. They are thinsulate lined so too warm for summer (and the pair I had were a bit too big so I got rid). I want something that keeps mositure out but doesn't leave your feet sweating on those warm summer days. Happy...

    Footwear

Hi Chaps, Looking for a bit of advice/recommendations if possible. I need to get a new pair of fishing boots/trainers. They don't need to be thermal as they are for summer/evening sessions (wear skeetex moonboots in winter). They must however be waterproof (walking back to the car through...

    Self take camera

Thanks for all the help and advice chaps, it's very much appreciated. After a lot of thought and research I went for a Canon G11 in the end. Picked one up 2nd hand for £200. Plenty of time in the closed season to have a play about etc. Let's hope I made the right decision. Thanks...

    Self take camera

Thanks again chaps, as a complete novice with cameras all advice is very much appreciated. Didn't consider the cost/availability of spares etc so a G11 is suddenly more appealing. Just had a quick scout on that well known auction site and 2nd hand G11's are certainly in my price range. As...

    Self take camera

After a lot of thought and reading of reviews I think I might go for the Canon G6. Can pick one up for under £80 and the swivel screen and infra red remote is a big factor. Alot of my fishing will be done in the evenings into night, does anyone have any pro's or con's about using the G6 in...

    Hair stops for meat?

Personally I cut the chunk of meat in half and superglue it back together with the hair in the middle (same as I do for boilies or 2 x elips pellets) I prefer to do this as it's easier to be accurate with distance between the bend of the hook and the bait. Not saying this is the right way...

    Self take camera

I'm looking at getting a new camera for self takes when fishing. At the moment I use a fairly basic 8mp digital camera with a timer. The photo's are 'OK' but I'd like something better. I have a budget of around £200 so should be able to get something fairly decent (I hope). What's the best...
