I use mesh bags sometimes on the middle but only small mesh bags tied around the lead,but 99% of the time I don't put any loose feed in on the middle, only attracts the small ones

I put reel on the rod,line through the but ring, chuck the spool in a bucket of warm water and wind it on!

I'd like to know what makes a hook "ideal" for snag fishing? Why anyone would chose to use a barbed hook for snag fishing is beyond me? I use a simple running rig with a barbless hook, should the mainline snap the lead will slide off. If for some reason weed or something else tangles around the...

I only use barbless for all my carp and barbel fishing I've never had any problems with them.Id like some to explain how they think a hook on strong line(10lb bs and upward) being held under tension by a doubled up barbel rod is going to " move around"?

I'd go for a 4000 dl baitrunner£65 ish and a drennan super specialist barbel rod £120. Loads of cash left over for other stuff!
