Hi Scott, have a look at the P&DAA website, they have stretches of the Nene that hold barbel on day ticket and its a very welcoming club, they even hold 'Barbel School' teach ins to help beginners on their waters
I have visited Aramstone a couple of times, you can drive along most of the bank and its well kept. The bailiff will also point you in the right direction from experience.
Hello,
Has anyone used the above for Barbel, I normally use Skretting Halibut Pellets but my local store which offers a 'Pick and Mix' service informs me they will not be stocking for a while. They do have Elite Pellets, has anyone used them and if so any feedback much appreciated.
Thanks,
Carey
Just a quick note since this appears an old post and I am not losing anyone a sale- until recently Catching the Impossible was available on Amazon Prime to be streamed for free (if a Prime member), not sure if it still is.
I use Monster Particles (www.monsterparticles.com) for cooked hemp- if you time it right you can get the hemp for £1 per KG (comes in multiples of 5kg) + £6 delivery

Hello, sorry to jump on an old thread but I am interested in the free stretch above Marford Farm- does anyone have any details regarding where it is specifically? I live 90 miles away so would like to know where I was headed when setting off!
Thanks,
We only fished the evening on the campsite for a few hours (there was only one swim accessible, but the owner said there was potentially another up the bank), I just had the one Barbel. We fished the following day at Old Harp Fishery which is just up the road.
I have stayed here- https://tresseckcampsite.co.uk
Lovely setting, albeit basic with no showers and a portaloo.
Great pub at the end of the road and they have fishing onsite
Hello,
Looking at booking a place on the Wye @ Byford in July, can anyone shed any light on the head of barbel this far up? I have only ever fished further down and think there is a limit to how far upstream holds a good stock?
Any pointers much appreciated,
Carey
