Reading through this thread has got me itching for the winter so I can have a proper crack at the perch. Found a couple of local waters with some nice perch in, so I won't have to travel like last winter:)

Hoping to beat my best from last winter of 2lb 1oz:)

Had a good day roaching today with quite a few over 1lb and 6 carpus as well as a nice 3.5 perch...on meat.

Bit hot for barbel so local lake. (forgot scales so estimates but pretty accurate)

30 plus roach to 1lb. 8oz and 4 carp including one over 20. Great fun on stepped up match rod.

Also 3 nice perch including this nice one. Anyone like to venture a weight for it to help me out?

Thanks Will.

My thought was 3.8. Lawman( another perch expert) said...a bit over 3.

It was VERY fat so I'm taking an unofficial 3.8. a pb by 3oz

Good on ya!
Incidentally, family Barnard spent a last minute week at a place called Cofton holiday something or other in Dawlish.

If anyone has designs on going there (maybe some from here as it has fishing in a loose form on site)

Take your perch gear.
It was the only stuff I packed in earnest as these sorts of places often have good perch and/or eels. I nicked an afternoon to myself and had a dozen stripes between 2 and just over 3lb. Was good fun and it confused the hell out of the casuals fishing 3lb tc rods and wagglers.

Cheers Paul. I was just interested in making sure I wasn't widly out. All unofficial. I will have to catch a bigger one and weigh it.

Dunno, never seen a perch that big in the flesh so wouldn't hazard a guess.:D

More importantly though it's a cracking fish no matter what number you put on it, well done Graham!:)

You reckon wrong Chris. :p

Graham. Not too good. very hot. A few small ones, but problem was very very soft pellets kept falling off the hook.

Did get a big bream (yuk)and also hooked something that slowly made its way from the margins and did me. I reckoned a foul hooked pike.

Pal caught 3 over 1lb on pellet feeder though....as you do it seems......

Hemp / caster next time. At least you know they are there.

Had these beautiful looking stripeys on a trip down to the hampshire avon last weekend, beat my pb twice with a 2.12 then a 3.02, had several other 2's and lost a fish which looked to be at least 4lb! Gutted wasnt the word!
