New Harrisons.

Chris I paid a lot of money for these as they were built outside of the norm from the MT web page. I had to twist his arm a little for the tip and isotope to be done. The rings were top spec and I had some extra little whipping details thrown on. The price was an agreed price over the phone so I’ll not openly publish it but anyone can pm me and I’ll gladly say what it was. You can however go on his website and customise your own rod from his options and that will give you a more accurate price suited to exactly what you want.
Quite recently there were a pair of Mark Tunley's rods on eBay. They were marketed as "Black Power" or "Black Edition" or similar. The rods looked absolutely built to perfection and a credit to the builder.

Me, I'm a Kevin Baynes man. He's based not too far from Harrison in Liverpool and is one of their accredited builders. I use his 11ft 1.5TC built on a standard grey carbon blank. He does build on the Torrix blank but for some reason advised the standard blank. But I'm very happy, especially with the new Fuji K series guides he uses.

standard blank.
There isn’t a “standard blank” to my knowledge. Every Harrison blank has a purpose, action, design in mind with its build.
the torrix is just one of many.
torrix is certainly one of the very top ones amongst us barbel anglers.
GTI and chimera also as highly regarded and I’m sure are many more. Each one different.

I think Stephen is probably referring to the range that are often referred to as the 'Standard Specialist' rods. Basically ballista's/multi-carps in lighter test curves. The lower end of the range (in test curves) being the 11' 1.6 Avon.

There are some of the Harrison SS blanks listed here on Dave Lumbs site:

Ah ok. i see what he meant now.
yeah they all great blanks from any of their range.

There are a pair of Bob's "I power's" on ebay at present with two days to run. You can find them listed under barbel rods. Make a nice Christmas present for someone.
