King fisher chub specialist blanks only

Anyone wishing to see my finished rod its on Trafford Tackle Repairs facebook page. I will be collecting it tomorrow hopefully.
Health warning : "Wear your sunglasses"🤣
Thanks for the warning in advance, the gold wrapping is shinny than I expected 😆😆. Lovely build, surprised you are using high stand rings. Are you going to use it as a float rod?

Yes Huanzhou, having thought about Martin describing the rod as an all-rounder we decided to go with the rings to allow me the option to float fish especially when fishing the delightful Dane with its short/medium glides along with a little pool for Crucians.

The rod was picked up today and looks fabulous in the flesh, really happy with the work Dave has put into it 👏.

An early Diamond birthday🎂 present to myself....just need those Martin Bowler rods now😂

Sneak peek be done by the end of the weekend :) will post proper pics when finished as this is only the first coat, some more turning etc but thought ild throw a teaser out. I gave my builder a free rain really and so far exceeded my expectations. The red silk is a nice touch difference from the nylon and an an old school touch. The blue will tie in with something eles more to follow :)

Enjoy the sun ☀️

Absolutely beautiful. I am a great fan of the mix of" burl ?"cork. I think it looks magnificent. Well done to all involved.
It’s simply works, love how he got the cork into the reel seat area, I gave a some guidance and the rest was down to John. Problem is now it will not half look nice on office wall 🤣 it will most certainly get used

the andy sliwa 10' I just sold had the cork through the reels seat. Never seen it before, now, just twice, lovely touch!

Bob Gill sent me a pic of his twin tip torrix 1.1/4 which I would love to get my hands on. The reel seat and cork is particularly spectacular. A few years ago I had a thing for the JW Young mk 1 rods designed by John Wilson and Bruce Vaughan with the wooden reel seat. Had 9 at one stage on display. Fond memories.

Hi Daniel...

Looks like my build with Roger has fallen through unfortunately.

I thought I'd give his number a quick call, & he answered, only to inform me he hasn't had the chance to buy in the bits needed.

I've asked if I can pick my blanks up again & he was fine with that, so I'm back to the drawing board on who to use to do my build....

Yes I made up my mind earlier this morning guys, as soon as I had spoken to Roger, my mind was made up....

I'll go with John Hennersy, Daniel, and yes sure, pm me your number buddy, as I already have John's Hennessy's from Huanzhou.

And we can go from there bud. 😊👍

Roger hadn't even started buying in the components, and I know the chaps super busy, and I wasn't in a rush, but it would of been nice to know there was some progress being made... 🤣👍

Just this moment seen the rod on the Facebook page, yes it looks unusual with the rings, but when you realise what your using it for, then it looks the part!
I like it especially because it's different from anything you'd normally see, very striking with that gold thread, reminiscent of the old Hardy 13ft Match Maker rods! See below 😊

Glad it came together as you wanted. Hope to see some more pictures of it in use! 👍😊
