King fisher chub specialist blanks only

I think he builds exclusively for Johnson Ross. Great work too. Wether open to outside commissions I don't know. Suspect J/R deluged with work through custom made rods, but hey, it's only a phone call. Andy Sliwa is an excellent choice too. I have his barbel. He is thoroughly nice guy as well, worth a call. Suspect he may be intrigued by the story too!
I think I recall Andy Sliwa limits himself to a handful of rods a year. And currently not taking anymore on? 👍

Huanzhou. I'll give Ruth and the guy's I've known for years down @ Yately Angling, a call this week for you. I believe Vic Gibson works there as well?

I’m usingJohn Hennessy is the builder out of tackle box doing mine if that’s the route you want to go down get in contact with me. I know tackle box really really well if you end up going down that route.

There’s lots of rod builders that all do fine work

I do hope these are going to get used.
Feathers, decals, titanium, and gold tippings…….. it sounds like they are getting built for trophy cabinets
Mine will used and abused, built nice looking but everything about it is functional. I want it to age and have the scars of battle 🤣

Guys morning!

My original Chub Specialist Rod rings were ever so slightly out from the drawing that accompanied the blanks....but not by much! 👍

I genuinely don't feel the original drawing is wrong by any means!!

But Roger wanted to check my original Rods spacings for my build and match my new builds to the original I took up to him.
He found some of them ever so slightly out....nothing that is detrimental, and in fact, I'm sure rods built to the provided spec will be just fine! 👍

I'll upload the image that goes with my original rod, & you guys can decide what you'd like to do.

Like I say I don't want to p**s anyone off, but felt I should be upfront with what we've found at my end. 😊

The tip section were bang on!

Being individually hand built, I'm 100% convinced everyone's rod that was originally built will be slightly different in some small way, from one rod to another, that's the beauty of being hand built & not factory built. 👍

Like I pointed out earlier the only way to get them exactly the same is by measuring the distance between all the guides while the rod is put together and start at the tip.
Every blank will have discrepancies in both length and the amount they slide together on the joints. They’ll also be discrepancies between handles now and then.
If you put it together and start and the tip when taking the measurement, every other Rod measured and marked up the same way will be rung up identical

Julian, I don't think the rod ring spacing police have been formed yet !😄

Right I have say a 4 or 5 of these transfers if anyone wants them for their rods?
I certainly don't need all of them, & they'll be thrown away if not required...

Pm me your address, if you can make use of them on your builds & let me know how many you require etc.

The smaller ones are a better fit on the blanks, these larger ones not so. Unless you cut them down a bit yourselves.

Just pm me if anyone's interested 👍

I've got your ones Huanzhou. 👍
