Hydropower application for the Swale at Topcliffe.

Fishtek Consultancy, they were employed as part of the application. There's a link to the full report on the blog but it's pretty heavy reading in places.

Not sure which study you are referring to Lee but there was one conducted for the scheme at Topcliffe. On closer examination it turned out the guy who had conducted the survey was directly connected to the hydropower company.
Chris, my understanding was that although approval was given the company do not have right of access and the farmer is not prepared to enter into discussions about granting it across his land. The residents of Topcliffe, particularly the residents of the weir flats, strongly opposed the application and a similar designed turbine of the Ure was eventually stopped from operating by the council due to noise issues.

It's on the Warks Avon so nothing to do with this other than it's a hydro.

Cite the shocking implementation of the hydroelectric weir at Brockham, Surrey, on the River Mole. It has totally ruined the river both upstream, and down stream, until the next weir where flow becomes regular again. The river in the area used to have a load of lovely gravel on the bottom. I suspect it's still there - just a shame there's 5 inches of silt on top of it now. The fish are now gone.
