Ebay madness

Here's another one of those Stradic GTMs. The trick to selling them at top dollar seems to be emphasizing the "Made in Japan" thing. It seems to add a good fifty quid to the sale price.

Couple of hampster wheels...

Very pretty though
Here and Here

both would look good on my Fred J Taylor roach rod, but it'd be nice to have one of each;)....

I know that sellers of these fine rods keep bangin on about bing made in England but designed and made ain't quite the same thing. Can anyone actually confirm that they were made in England? Secondly, is there any reason why, in some posts, the standard of English is so diabolical? The guy selling the rod hasn't been to know finishing school either. Them people who carnt write proper english should be chucked of the sight as it offends me ears.

I will stick with my Okuma Sheffield, thankyou very much...

they must be rubbish if he is selling them to pay for a Witcher....

Not rubbish, that's for sure. In all likelihood probably just as good. Just that Whichers are simply "out there", on a level of their own and rarer(I think). Personally, I'd be made up to have either the reel you have shown, or preferable the other Carter that this same seller has listed. Both beautiful reels, hugely expensive but neither will catch even one more fish than an Okuma.

Is it the kevlar cosmetic finish or the sheer quality of a rod that makes these so sought after?

I'd love to hear it too. Strikes me that the Kevlex is the same blank with a different colour finish and a tip less. There isn't the same furore over the Kevlex though.

Picked up a harrison Chimera avon rod for £85 on ebay, it's lovely and comes with an extra quiver tip incase Chub ever start appealing to me... The rod looks barely used... So there are some bargains to be had.

essentially they are the same butt section although the Kevlar (RD3436) is gray and has 1 1/4lb and 1 3/4lb solid tips and a 1 1/2lb quiver holder section with 4 tips and the kevlex is burgundy and has 1 1/2lb and 1 3/4lb with a 1 1/2lb quiver holder section and 5 tips. had the Kevlar but replaced it with a pair of Kevlex (ARD001) for the same as i got selling one Kevlar on eBay . liked them so much i also have the specialist Kevlex barbel float (ARD003) and a pair of the Kevlex triple tip specialists (ARD002)

ooh that was a bit geekie of me, lol, but I can't see the difference in quality or performance between the two.

eBay madness rules, or o hope it will as I've got a few choice bits of kit going on Thursday so they finish Sunday week at 8pm for best effect ;)

prices of the Kevlar's are just madness, suited me though;)
