Thanks everyone that has commented.
I should add, and not sure how well this will go down on here so please don't hate me for it, I want to use a pair, up the Thames, doing nights and using bite alarms.
I know its not to everyone's taste but hear me out.....
I'm a carp angler by nature been doing it 25 years but have completely fallen out of love with it, hence my change to a lot more specimen angling, especially fishing for Barbel. All my fishing so far has been done with one rod and a centre pin, I absolutely love it and will continue to fish this way as much as possible, but......
The one thing I really miss about my carp fishing is the escape it gives me when I go for 24 hours and fish the night. I need that in my life but can't be doing it on the busy carp lakes anymore so thought why not do it, up the Thames for Barbel, I know it will not be for everyone and that's fine but it's a big part of my life that I miss.
Anyway, not sure if that would make any difference to what blank people would recommend, in terms of how I am going to use them. It's also why I mentioned it would be nice if they could be also used for Tench as I'll be fishing for them, again will give me my escape frok eveey day life for 24 hours once a week, in the close season.
Cheers
