I'm thinking about switching from shimano to these reels, I have noticed that you can get them for £89.99 which seems pretty good.
Someone has offered me 2 second hand for £140 which I think is a bit much given the above, I was considering offering £120 for the pair second hand which seems...
Im currently using a shimano power barbel rod with a shimano 4000 reel for small/medium river fishing.
Im not overly keen on the rod, i did have a look the other day at the drennan specialist avon that was qute nice if a bit tarty with the finish!
Half debating stretching to a Harrison...
Just thinking out aloud on this but as most boilies aimed at catching barbell/chub are nearly always fish/meat etc flavoured i'm considering trying a sweet flavoured bait might be worth trying as it could potentially be less conspicuous.
I think the last recipe I made for winter fishing was a...

Thanks in advance......
Does anyone have experience of musto, harilka etc?

Just watched these very enjoyable spread across the full fishing season a great watch for the all round angler.
The narration is just right as is the on screen presence of Bob and Stuart, highly recommended!
Have one of the big river rods already but noticed the new rods are £170!
Wouldn't you be better of spending the extra and getting a free spirit or one from bob gill !? It's not that much more really...

When I joined this forum (the original one) over ten years ago, the river reports threads were a great source if exchanging info for people all fishing the same rivers and helping each other out.
Apart from a small handful of people who are genuinely helpful the reports now just seem to be...
One of the disadvantages of keeping my bait in the same bag as my tackle is that it stinks now.
I've tried washing it with a buckt of hot soapy water but it still smells! Wish I had kept my bait separate in my fox bait bag but I have sold that now!
Any suggestions to make it smell less...
