ive still got an original pms111, better than the pmx imo, only a pound and a quarter test but my god they bend right through the handle.... used it for many years before the fish started getting much bigger, Don't get me wrong, i know thwy will handle very large barbel but i felt it was time to...
Not a link to any scales, but just a little story to say how good a company the makers were.
Had my first set of Avons for about 25 years, still weighed perfect but the glass was almost impossible to see through and they were looking very shabby, managed to get in touch with the Avon scale...
If thats the fly weights, ? then they have gone to the best place, just pray they don't send them back to you.... have a search around and get a set of Avons, not made anymore i think but still a few new sets kicking around.
Nice going Clive... its always good to try something we don't usually do, gives us that feeling of excitement from years past. Proves we shouldnt just take it all for granted.
I know they may be a little more expensive than your average 'cheapie' .But i believe you get what you pay for, and if you have pretty sensitive eyes (as i do) then i think spending a little extra is justified. Just need to know which model to go for. I think the lens choice is between the grey...
Now Kieth's pic is certainly a 'good un' .and a worthy home page pic, but ive been looking at him for the last 'x' amount of weeks and would like to see someone else smiling back at me when i log on, come on F , what you got.:D
Used them many times in the past, and will certainly be using them at some stage in the future, not sure they are over priced , as if you are using decent ingredients , which JB obviously is, then these come at a price. I'm currently using a bait that works out somewhere in the region of £12-13...
used a couple of 55's for many many years, then moved on to shimanos . But always thought i would like to go back to a '55'. found a perfect one.... it was rubbish compared to todays reels, our memories can play some funny tricks on us, i now use 3500b's and cant see me changing them any time...
Echo all the above, the fishing was always going to take a back seat to the social side , the evening(night) in the pub was a huge plus.... thought the landlord was gonna ask us to leave for clogging up his bar till he realised how many drinks we were buying..... by the end of the night he was...
