I’ve been a member of a couple of Loddon clubs for the last few years but fancy a change of scene and fishing the Thames.

It is a big fish. But how big really depends on the size of the angler holding it as there's no other real reference point.

So you want a rig that when it pulls tight against the lead (as the barbel sucks it in) turns the hook point down.
Size 7 curved shank esp raptors work very well I have found.
