    Braided mainline recommendations please

Thanks both, looks good stuff to me. What knots are you using to a swivel with that Graham? Does it slip? And if I was using 12lb -15lb mono what breaking strain would you suggest for the braid? very helpful thank you!

    Braided mainline recommendations please

Hi all Hope everyone is well. I’m looking into braided main line for the first time so would really appreciate some advice please. I need to cast about 70-90/yards across river, hold bottom and need to back lead owing to boats. So I thought a thinner braid could give me less push on the...

    Thames club recommendation please

Thanks everyone. I used to fish the CSAS stretches as a kid but ended up on their Kennet bit most of the time. Probably worth another look.

    Thames club recommendation please

Hi all I’ve been a member of a couple of Loddon clubs for the last few years but fancy a change of scene and fishing the Thames. I’m in N6, north London and would appreciate any suggestions for clubs on the Thames that allow night fishing please. Many thanks Simon

Have you tried the internet? It's very good.

    Trent Barbel

It is a big fish. But how big really depends on the size of the angler holding it as there's no other real reference point. It doesn't look 20lb to me at all though, too thin.

    Beaver devastation??

Just watched a channel 4 news piece on escaped beavers on a river in Devon. An ecologist saying let's have a debate, they shouldn't be in a concrete zoo but should be in the wild what harm can they really do, and the chief exec of the angling trust saying dams will wreak havoc for migrating...

I do of course realise I've set myself up for at least a 4yr blank here..

    cc moore meteor

Neither, base mix. Always make my bait fresh before a session and, for the past two seasons, it's meant I always catch. Incredible really and why I was pretty desparate to get my hands on some.

    cc moore meteor

I was able to get some meteor off cc Moore this week. You have to order 5kg in one go but that's no problem for me, it keeps 18 months if stored correctly. Cheers

    how?

So you want a rig that when it pulls tight against the lead (as the barbel sucks it in) turns the hook point down. Size 7 curved shank esp raptors work very well I have found.

    New British record

Undoubtably be some big ex lake carp that have ended up in the thames and other rivers after the floods.
