    Folding landing nets

I bought an xxl snowbee folding salmon net - then carefully replaced the net with that from a korda 32 inch v shaped net. The result is perfect. I've landed fish to 15 in it with no problems and it folds away into nothing... Absolutely perfect for roving, it's only limitation is fishing from...

Choosing between three barbel rods to get me started

On a personal note, I think the 2.25 is a bit heavy. Start with a 1.75, or a 2 at tops. Brand doesn't really matter imo

If You Could Offer One Tip...

I use a quivertip when I'm trundling baits, although it's more to get a visual representation of what my link ledger is doing rather than the bite registration.

If You Could Offer One Tip...

Interestingly I'm exactly the opposite. The fish move around more freely in the summer looking for food. In the winter they are much less mobile IMO. I always feel I have a better chance going looking for them.

If You Could Offer One Tip...

I rarely get to fish for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time. I don't have time to sit and wait for the fish to find me!

If You Could Offer One Tip...

Keep moving.. Let me elaborate. Barbel will eat most things if they are in a feeding mood, most barbel rigs are pretty effective, most rods and reels are up to the job. You can spend too much time sweating the details. If you don't have fish in front of you. You WON'T catch, simple. Sitting in...

    Whats your PB?

Fair point Richard. I was just making it clear that there were no hidden agendas behind the poll, I'm not looking for information on whereabouts etc, just interested to know people's pbs. I posted a poll like this several years back, I think it would be interesting to see the comparison.

    Whats your PB?

I thought it would be interesting to get an idea of people's PB's. Not interested in rivers, years or anything like that....

Advice on a medium feeder, winklepicker, light Avon type rod. Rivers.

I prefer the tulip beads over a swivel, I often snap off the thin piece that goes up the line to lower bite resistance on the days where its all bit finicky.

Hi Richard, The are SS750's Tiny little things, but with a fantastic drag. I've picked up a few now. They're awesome little things, coupled with 12lb braid there isn't much they won't stop.
