For front drag, non baitrunner I'd seriously consider the Okuma Inc6000. Got them on my carp setup and they are a fantastic reel and even better when you consider the price. Obvioulsy a bit bigger than 5000 but they are pretty lightweight so don't feel big.

Thanks for the heads up Graham, I had seen those but was hoping to get the original version with the triple leg rings. I suspect I may end up with the newer ones but will hold out a little longer.

Thanks for the replies. Agree with the comments on the Okuma Inc6000's as I actually have a set of these on my carp rods but wanted bait runners this time. Problem is the more I look at the alternatives the more I'm being drawn to Shimano OCs 😆

Just the Inc6000 and Shimano. As others have already said the Inc6000's are absolutely cracking reels.

Does this help, the Pulzar is at the top, Inc6000 in the middle and a Shimano 6000rb at the bottom.
