    Tidal trent.

I understand your point Terry, but by this logic you wouldn't fish any river for barbel in summer with rods less than 2lb+ tc?

    Tidal trent.

The fish nost definitely aren't the issue for 1.75tc rods, it will come down to casting weight, loaded feeder etc, and of course conditions on the day. If there's no extra water on (dependant on how tidal the stretch is), i would expect you can cope for a session with those rods, however if you...

Daiwa powermesh or fox x4 ?

I picked a pair of the Powermesh up last season, predominantly for carping on some very tidal stretches of the Trent, but they have soon found their way to being my rod of choice for barbeling as well, handling 10oz leads, or big loaded feeders comfortably. Very good value rod for the money.

    Korum compact pod

As i mentioned, take a look at these...can alternate between sticks or bar/pod style setup in no time, and obviously takes up no room at all.

    Korum compact pod

Take a look at the Avid Lok Down Buzz Bars.

2 x ss2600 with carbon washers and improved line clip.

I've got either 6 or 8 of them, use them for anything and they have always coped admirably.

    Get you, perfect, thanks.

    Pike

Thanks all. I'm assuming the handle can be used at full extension without having to lock in this case then? Without risk of it all sliding out if the inner comes out the back end of the handle?

    Floodwater rods.

Future fishing in Farndon usually hold a good stock, when we are out of this anyway!

Not sure if anyone knows the answer to this but anyway... I have a Drennan Specialist, which locks just fine for the first half of the shaft, but wont lock at the bottom half. Do the two sections just pull apart, to enable to me access and clean etc?

    Floodwater rods.

I think off the peg, the Basias are going to be the closest thing you find to perfect. I have the Powermesh 2.75s and have been absolutely blown away with how good they are for the money, and have not read a bad review on the Basia blank. I fish the TT predominantly, and significantly more...

    Muck boots

Oh i agree, but still suffered with those boots. I am diabetic though and suffer from poor circulation so understand what works/doesnt work for me isnt the same for others.

    Muck boots

I have the Skeetex versions, and have been pretty happy over the last couple of years with them. However, i do tend to find after a full day, the outside of the 'sock' insert is soaking wet, which then chills my feet, so back to square one. Use them now for the boat where im not walking and thus...

I understand they have a new one coming in the new year.

    Finally cracked the chair issues.

Excellent. You sound like me: have an idea about how i want my luggage/kit or whatever to function, then try multiple different bits of kit, buying all of them to find the right solution!

Low hight brolly with mini sides

Thanks Steve, it was me looking, and i actually ended up plumping for a Korum Pentalite, which i'm very happy with. This looks just the job for getting battered about in some of the tighter, more remote swims i get to so may pick one up as well! Any idea on total weight?
