Someone to finish my bathroom I'm fitting, decorate my little girls room and the room for the baby due in Feb that both got re skimmed today and to stop working 7 days weeks. Haven't cast a rod since March just can't find the time.
I gutted to read this. I only picked my first copy about 4 months ago and after years and years of reading numerous carp fishing mags and really enjoyed it. Will have to try and get hold of some old issues.
Thank you chaps I'm going to have to take the family down to Bournemouth for the day and set the sat nav to go via Christchurch where we might somehow end up in Davis tackle. They seem to have a good selection will see what takes me fancy.
I'm after a new Avon rod for going down the river. Mainly be used for the odd chubbing session and me attempting to learn how to roll meat.
It seems that avon rods are not as popular as they used to be but I think I've narrowed it down to either a 11 foot 1.5 torrix or the Davis tackle 1.6...
This may be a silly question (in which case I apologise) but when rolling do you need access section of bank to walk along, or can you be static and let it roll past? I did try rolling many years ago but each time I tried before I knew it my bait was back and the near bank again, so gave up...
I fish a section of the Loddon which is just before the one I think that you refer to in the article. Having come from the Kennet where I moved every 30-45 mins in general I'm in the same boat. It worked fine on the Kennet but on the Loddon it seems casting out once and staying there until you...
Hadn't thought of the tench floats. Will have a look on ebay see what's about. The local shop has a series 7 tench rod which I'll have a look at tomorrow. I know the series 7 aren't as good as the older tench floats but I like the way it breaks down.
Fancy buying myself a slightly more powerful float rod than my acolyte. I'm a bit torn I do like my acolyte so was thinking about maybe the acolyte plus but I am also a big fan of freespirit rods and am thinking about maybe a hi-s power float instead but can't find much feedback on either. Any...
If you can live without the baitrunner facility I used a Daiwa exceler x 4000 on mine was lovely and balanced perfectly the reel was about 380 grams wouldn't of wanted anything much heavier.
Work, work, work, then start on the list of jobs that need doing on the house and on the 2 short sessions I reckon I'll fit in this close season try and stalk the biggie out my syndicate lake.
Have been going through my garage and decided to have a clear out.
3 x freespirit hi-s rods 3lb tc full cork handle, 50mm ringing. Really don't want to sell these rods but only using them twice a year at most so can't justify keeping them. In very good condition. Sold Pending
2 x drennan...
I know it's a long shot but does anyone have a Yateley angling stalker with the extension piece they would be willing to sell? If you have please let me know. Thanks
Shimano aero gt 5010. Was my first proper reel took me 20 weeks of my paper round money to get has been used for everything and is still going strong nearly 20 years later.
