Yeah GE. Stuart was laughing while the fish was emptying my centrepin under as much pressure as i dared. I still suspect a Carp......we may never know. In 40 years of angling i have never hooked a fish like that...... All good fun :D

Challenging and tricky fishing but a great time was had as always. Stuart went out of his way to put us on a few fish on the second day.....top man! And then there was the one that got away......;)

Hmmmmm, might have to take the quivertipping gear then......

Following on from a recent thread where there was some recomendations for un-issued army goretex jackets... Does anyone know what the acronyms DPM or MVP stand for??? I'm looking for one with pockets but i see some seem to be designed to wear below a top layer (without pockets). I'm confused...

Cheers Dave, I had my 54's serviced by Anglers Workshop a few years back and I vaguely remember being told that they do stainless spools for them. As you say, the plastic ones fade and I even had one explode on me a while back :eek: I might upgrade too... Steve

I'm thinking of getting a keep net for using whilst trotting on thr river. I've noticed that returning fish in the swim can often spook the shoal. I've no intention of using it for barbel but I wondered if there was anything on the market that was suited particularly for river anglers...

Anyone local to me (Maidenhead, Berks) got an old beachcaster they want to get shot of? I'm off down the coast in a couple of weeks and fancy escaping the wife for a few hours in the evening....;) Saltwater fixed spool would be useful too. Cheers, Steve
