I have been using Edge Tackle Float Line in 8lb BS this season which has a remarkable resemblance to Gardner Hydroflo I have previously used and also Dave Harrell Float Line. I wonder if they are all the same stuff in differently branded packaging
Thanks for this recommendation. I ordered one from Angling Direct it arrived at breakfast time yesterday and shortly after lunch netted its first barbel. I put my rod in Richard (barbel magnet) Isaacs hand and first trot he caught one!
I am afraid this is another landing net post.....but with a difference. I am looking for recommendations for a landing net to use when wading.
My preference is to be able to stand in the river with the net slung over my shoulder which I can detach easily. It would also need to be of a...
Glad to hear Kevin has got sorted. I had a similar situation a few years back so I got on the phone and Drennan sent me the cap and a spare bush in the post the same day. I don't know what medium you used to contact Drennan but I think most of us are guilty of relying on email too much.
I have been using their wide gape hooks for a few seasons now and they are as good as similar (if not the same) at twice the price. I also like that I can buy the quantities I want and not in standard “10 in a pack“ retail offerings with excessive plastic packaging that tackle shops fill up...

Microwave. Ours has a defrost setting of 30% of full power and I do a minute leave it for five minutes, another minute on defrost and repeat until thawed.
I always try not to turn my torch on in the dark apart from landing a fish and use a small torch directed away from the water if I need to do any small tasks like rebaiting. I even turn down the lighting on my phone.
Having said that I have lost count of the number of times I have had my torch...
Another one to consider is the JWYoung Trudex Mk3 which has just been launched although at £260 slightly over your budget. It is 4.5 ins diameter but the spool is only 0.54 ins wide. That would be good for chub and perch but I would personally go to a wider spool if barbel become your target to...
I think it has been said on here before but a good starting point is to look at the stuff reservoir trout anglers wear. Remember they stay out on the water without being able to shelter under an umbrella.
I bought a jacket marketed by Airflo (a game angling brand) from the shop at Rutland...
