Live system works well, Ive mainly used it in the winter on easyish lakes but know of someone who caught very well on it from the Great Ouse last winter.
Smells lovely too which makes a nice change.
One thing Id say though is I dont think its a food bait as such so wouldnt want to pre bait...
The license money doesn’t go into anything per se, it’s a generic tax like road tax and like all tax money it pays off government debt. They may equate their budget with license fee sales figures but the EA budget comes straight from government like all public service budgets.
The biggest...
This thread gave me the urge to post my smallest barbel ever but unfortuantely I lost all my baby barbel albums on a dead PC.
Then I remembered that the last time a PB thread came up I had the same urge..... so I went on an old thread hunt......... the same thread was started by the VERY SAME...
Clueless, crazy and all the other C words.
Bedfordshire is f**ked.
The urbanisation of the county will continue at breakneck speed for the next 20 years.
The ridiculous trainline to Cambridge is going to decimate the area too.

It can also be...
This is a big bait problem, imo.
Barbel have anti-eject mouths but bigger baits take alot more effort to go into their gobs and big baits are more subject to not acting natural and therefore maybe having more chance of being rejected.
Sharp hook is a must. Lots of times when Ive been getting...
Cons- generally straight tipped points so more chance of hook pull.
Each to their own; but for dedicated barbel fishing a wide gaped pattern with beaked hookpoint is all you need.
They stopped doing a barbed version and now concentrate on their take on barbless which are the Gripz hooks.
The old barbed 'the hook' were excellent but you cant get these anymore.
Gardner talon tips come in both barbed and barbless and are very similar to the pallatrax, again they are highly...
I had one of these, its a copy of an old JRC model. The JRC model lasted me 10 + years until a mouse ate through the bottom of it.
Unfortunately the Angling direct version has fallen to bits after about 3 seasons heavy use, the harness literally fell off the bag when I went to put it on. So...
