    Mono suggestions please

Cheers guys. I reckon I am going to go for the Gardner HydroFlo. It ticks everything I want the line to do. Small barbel in a small snaggy river and double figure carp from equally snaggy little mill ponds and small reservoirs. Just going to leave it on a spool attached to an 11ft Avon...

    Unhooking Mat

Hello, This is going to sound a littlestrange I think, but if it doesnt, then ignore that. Im looking for a unhooking mat for smaller species, say fish up to about 8lb (tench, chub, roach, you get the picture), so I would ideally like the mat to be smaller in size, any suggestions? A...

    Ghost Carp

I have been trying to catch some of the ghost carp that live in a large mill pond. They're easy to locate in amongst the other commons and mirrors, and its been difficult with the temperature being all over the show, but, as yet, they are proving infuriating. I've had commons/mirrors shallow...

    Donkey Top/Glass Tip

Cheers for those ideas guys. I'll check out all the ones i can before making a decision. Albert, I've had some bites from Dane chub that will pretty much pull your rod in, but there are times Iv had to hit the merest 'twitch' thats resulted in similar sized chub. Just saying i'd like to cover...

    Cheese paste

good point Mick Made some today following the recipe colin gave, and funnily enough, I used my fridge temp to get it just right, and at room temp is was a lot softer and not as sticky as before cooling it off. bloody stinks as well! :D

    Cheese paste

Yeah i did! :p I grated it all up as well to help with the mixing. I take it that this is ok to do? The 'recipe' I normally use is ok, but tends to turn out on the softer side. So as soon as you get any water on or a faster section of water, it tends to not last too long on the hook, or at...

    Home Made Quiver Tips

Hello, I know not strictly barbel orientated (more finicky chub), but can anybody share any tips/places to buy so I can make a really sensitive quiver tip? Any material recommendations also? Never made a tip before before so sorry if this all seems vague and amateurish! :D Thanks in advance...
