Original Jetboil works fine for me for hot drinks. Bit limited for anything other than boiling water or food that yYou boil in a bag. Very compact though. Had a problem with the larger jetboil stove (helios model) which failed after two uses and is yet to be replaced/refunded by Blacks camping...
Great service for spare parts with superfast delivery when they have them in stock which isn't all the time.
I've had three reels serviced and have been underwhelmed to say the least. An internal problem on a longcast was fixed but when the reel arrived back the centre of the spool was bent...
Poundland do a squarish snap clip lunchbox in pale green. I've bought a couple and they are fine for tough odds and ends. You can always add a bit of padding if you are worried about things rattling about.
Not very ultracult but quite practical
Bivvy Bag
I'm sure you would fit very snugly into a short but suitably wide bivvy bag, goretex or not.
And you know that the mask would be unnecessary to keep vermin at bay Steve. Just one look at you would have them moving county.........permanently.
Kind regards and all that.
Many thanks for those helpful website suggestions. In return I offer:

That should set you off in the right direction. Helpful if you had an appropriate adult handy to explain the...
I've got an old Shakey extending handle you can have for a couple of quid. Would be ideal for you seeing as you never catch anything that needs netting anyway.......
None taken Wayne but the size of the river's kind of the point.
If the barbel were prepared to stick to the stream bed in a narrow river when it was in flood and covering the fields, why would they leave a bigger river's natural course? You could argue of course that the flow might be...
Martin Bowler was saying on Tight Lines last week that he doesn't believe barbel stray from the normal river course even in extreme floods. He gave an example of having to cast overhead to reach the riverbed of the Ouse when in was in flood...and he reckoned he caught.

Just how does one go about 'rinsing' a lake?
And how come everyone wants to use a 'killer' rig but no one should use a 'death' rig?
And do small tench and baby pigeons shoal together?
506
I've taken the pawl out of mine and simply backwind. The drags a waste of time.
Must admit that I always thought the 506 was a spinning reel that the match fraternity adopted and the 506m was just a slightly tarted up version with a chenille trim on the slightly wider spool to stop the...
