After a long walk fishing various likely spot and blanking. I settled down to another spot and changing bait to maggots and Filling the feeder with breadcrumb and crushed boilies. I Didnt have to wait long before the rod tip curled round and the fight was on. 5 mins later it was in the net and...
Thank you david and graham.
My apologies my spelling is incorrect it is addingham as you said. Only relised i made a mistake while out from home. Thank you both for your replays.
Think i will leave the rods at home and just enjoy the rivers beauty.
Good Morning all,
I am off to Addington in Yorkshire in march for a weeks holiday with the wife and dog and have seen that we are staying close to the river Wharfe.
does anyone have any information weather I am able to drop I bait in the water for a couple of hours or is this stretch a...
Thanks Neil yes I do remember reading it in the anglers mail. don't get me wrong there are Barbel in the Wensum im sure, but what john bailey don't relies is that Jo public like me cant just go and fish any part of the Wensum let alone just walk along the rivers edge looking for unsuspected...
Sorry Graham and Neil didn't mean to come across rude. iv no barbell under my belt yet so have nothing to report on really. my first trip was a blank and it was just for the day so I was not disheartened. never fished a water like the Trent before so there was a lot to learn from such a powerful...
thanks john your very right in what you said. it just seems a waste to have a few swims empty if all people want to do is fish pegs 1-3 im happy to book at the whole ten pegs but its hard to get people to commit to paying for it. and with the weir pool pegs being fully booked till end of year I...
thanks chaps. just though id put the feelers out there to see what the crack was. I do believe that having to book the whole 10 pegs just to fish the weir pool is unfair but I suppose they the club are guaranteed £100 every 24 hours. every day till end of season.
Hi Terry, I would be happy to fish peg 10 if that's what was left. as it is still close enough to the weir. I know everyone wants the weir pool but it seems a shame to have the other 7 pegs sitting there not being used. if pegs 1-3 are all that people want.
Hi All I was just wandering if anyone has booked the weir pool swims ( 1 to 10 I believe ) when the season starts again. I hear that these pegs can only be booked as a whole. I would like to fish the weir pool end but without block booking these I don't think id get much chance of getting near...
Good points all round really. I cant see why fishing cant be fished from a boat. at the end of the day as far as i am a wear anglers pay to from the bank of say collingham weir because the banks ( LAND ) belong to someone else like a farmer. therefore collingham weir anglers club pays the land...
That's understandable. I though I would ask the question. I am not from collingham area so didn't know what the rules and regs where with boating etc. I think il stick to the bank for fishing then. thanks guys.
Thank you Gavin I didn't really think of that. but surely the club has the right to fish from the bank only and not the water in general. im a member of a club in Suffolk. and I have the right to fish from the bank but. iv seen many of people fishing from kayaks who are not member's of the club...
evening all, I was just wandering if anyone knew of a place that hires day boats for fishing on the trent. preferably near collingham just to narrow down a place. but around that area.
looking at something between 12-14 foot long for 2 people and preferably with an outboard motor.
if anyone has...
Thank you Jon. I friend of mine said maggots if clear and feeder and boliles if coloured. I'd be happy just to catch a barbel but afew would be fantastic. Thanks for advice I'm counting down the days.
Hi Jon not sure what pegs as we are just fishing for the day. iv been told 49 to 60 is meant to be a good spot iv been told there is a long channel 2 rods length out. first time barbel fishing so just trying to get the low down before we go.
Evening all, travling up to collingham weir next week. And was wondering what the colour and pace of the water is like as we have had a little rain. Anyone been up there last few days who can let me know that would be great.
