Re the new Barbel rods, I hope the quality and finish in better than the other specialist rods in the range e.g. the latest specialist duo. I really do think Drennan have let themselves down with these rods.

The Drennan Ultralight Bomb Rod is an amazing rod and a real joy to use. I have the 10’ to 11’ version, which I use for Perch fishing. Despite being a true finesse rod, I’ve landed plenty of bonus Chub to over 5lb and a few Barbel to over 8lb, both of which took a liking to lob worms.

You can effectively still buy one, by asking your local tackle dealer to order it as spare sections. Within the last year, a mate broke his butt section and ordered a replacement.
