Hi Greg, my copies are in the loft too! I do remember Pete's article on Saving the Avon and obviously yours too. I didn't keep my Coarse Fishermans, Coarse Anglers, Dave Hall's Coarse Fishing, Coarse Fishing Handbooks or the various Big Fish specials - just Specialist Angler and Coarse Fishing...
The ML 3-8s were very special indeed - I suspect I would still be using them now if they hadn't been stolen.
The rods I have been using for the past 10-15 years are built on Harrison blanks and I won't be changing anytime soon.
Hi Paul,
I used to live in Datchet - fished the stretch once and, although I liked it aesthetically, the broken glass in the car park and abundance of our travelling friends walking around left me looking over my shoulder all the time and I didn't enjoy the experience so never returned.

Have just picked up on this thread.
The Sausage Sizzle flavour is still available via Trefor; David, I have PM'd you Trefor's contact details.
Best wishes, Steve
Hi Simon,
Hope you are well, etc.
Agree with what you say - for some it is about the fishing, for others it's just about the fish.....
Best wishes, Steve

I tend to avoid PVA bags in the summer and feed either by hand or catapult to spread the bait around a bit more and get the fish moving.
I feed no more than 15 pellets into a swim, only introducing more if I get a bite. I do, however, sometimes use a...
Thanks for the replies chaps (and nice to see so many fellow Loddonites posting).
We have all reached the same conclusion, which is nice, but if the fish looked ill or if it appeared that feeding might be impaired I would probably reach the opposite conclusion on the basis that the fish might...
I caught a fish yesterday which, although it was superbly conditioned (and almost as fat as me), had a walnut sized growth in the corner of its mouth.
I deliberated as to whether I should try to remove it and concluded that as the fish was so healthy looking (apart from the growth!) and had...
Dave,
Are you primarily a deadbait angler? From my piking days high pressure = livebaits while low pressure = deads.
In those days fishing resevoirs it was always possible to fish a number of rods and have a combination of livlies and deadlies but the above trend was rarely bucked.
