Not that I knew Roger, but I've just read a piece on him and am moved enough to share the link below. One of life's good guys by this and all accounts:

A Twyford man who will be missed by anglers and blues fans alike. I was fortunate to spend a day with him on Marlow weir. He was a true gentleman and the last of the Thames professionals. RIP.

RIP Roger,i worked at the Complete angler about 2 months ago and asked after him, the Polish lad that bailiffs the stretch said he was very ill. If you drive over the bridge at Marlow ,look down below the weir and give a little thought or a wave for Roger .
